How we help
We believe that “home” is more than four walls and a roof over your head.
In our Ronald McDonald Houses, we offer families with seriously ill children more than just accommodation close to the hospital. Our homes are loving places where families can find support, relax and recharge their batteries together.
We create an environment that is tailored to the needs of affected families:
1. closeness to the family:
Being close to your own family is an essential building block for recovery and can speed up the healing process of the sick child by up to a third.
2. proximity to the clinic:
The immediate proximity to the clinic means that families can be with their seriously ill child in just a few minutes at any time.
3. financial relief:
Families save on high hotel costs and long journeys. We ask families to contribute 15 euros per night and family room to keep the clinic running.
4. trust and reliability:
Our competent teams support the families with their care and experience and are a reliable partner for all concerns.
5. retreat and privacy:
The spacious family rooms offer a retreat where families can find peace and relaxation from the challenging daily hospital routine.
6. strong community:
Diverse communal areas create places of encounter where affected families can exchange ideas and encourage each other.
7. fully equipped:
Our houses are fully equipped and allow families to live an almost “normal” everyday life with inviting communal kitchens, cozy living rooms, lovely play areas, laundry rooms and much more.
